Citizen Call Out
Tell the Senate: NO "GUEST WORKER" BILLS, NO AMNESTY!
WE WANT A MORATORIUM!

2006
You've seen the headlines: "Bush Vows to 'Enforce Our
Border', " "Bush Cites Tools to Fight Illegal Immigration."
One might almost get the impression that the Administration has
had a sudden change of heart on the immigration issue.
But CCN is not fooled. This new "get tough" attitude
is simply a gimmicky ploy to distract U.S. citizens from the real
focus of the Administration's plan -- the legalization of up to
20 million illegal aliens already living in the U.S. (who
could then bring their families, resulting in perhaps as many
as one hundred million additional people in the USA in a few short
years!). The tool is a "guest worker" program that will
let the illegal aliens who are already here stay, with the prospect
of then importing millions of additional foreign workers.
The Bush Administration's track record shows that it has no
intention of honoring its promises to secure our borders and enforce
the law. Instead, by linking an amnesty/"guest worker"
program to enforcement and border security, it seeks to mislead
Americans into supporting a massive amnesty. AND THEY INTEND TO
"MAKE ROOM" FOR THE LEGALIZED ILLEGALS AND THEIR FAMILIES
BY DOUBLING LEGAL IMMIGRATION TO OVER TWO MILLION PERSONS PER
YEAR.
Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) is circulating a bill which would
do just that. Temporarily defeated in late December, Senator Specter
has now renewed efforts to force supporters of tough immigration
enforcement to include "guest worker" (i.e., amnesty)
provisions. Bills like Specter's can be revived, even after they
are temporarily defeated. Indeed, the 1990 bill increasing legal
immigration by 40% was defeated on the last day of that Congressional
session, only to be revived and passed later that same day!
|
The open borders lobby is powerful because they have the
resources to keep pushing. Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff
and high powered pro-mass immigration lobbyist Grover Norquist
are among those who indicate that the SOLUTION TO THE ILLEGAL
ALIEN PROBLEM IS TO LEGALIZE THEM!
These backdoor strategies to get around Americans' objections
to mass immigration can only be stopped one way. That is
by insisting that we want to stop mass immigration. And
that is the main reason it is essential to also PUSH for
a MORATORIUM.
|
 |
We must generate counter pressure on their push to double legal
immigration by PUSHING FOR A MORATORIUM. Only pushing for a moratorium
calls the whole enterprise of mass immigration into question,
and thus trumps the "rationale" for legalizing the illegals
as an ostensible "solution"!
The Open Borders lobby's strategy is to have the Senate pass
a bill enacting a "guest worker" (amnesty) program.
They would then meld that Senate bill with the enforcement and
border security bill (recently passed by the House) in conference
committee early this year. This forces the House to vote up or
down on the new bill -- without the possibility of amendments
and would allow the open borders advocates to avoid a nasty floor
fight in the House.
By linking an amnesty/"guest worker" program to
the House enforcement and border security bill, the Administration
seeks to mislead Americans into supporting a massive amnesty of
illegals.
The Administration has some - maybe enough - people fooled with
this one.

Certain Republicans and Democrats (the "guest worker"
aka amnesty bills
all have bipartisan sponsorship) want open borders, and behind
them are
Chambers of Commerce and ethnic
Group lobbies. They will be pushing hard with their big money
to pass an amnesty early this year.
We can stop it, but time is very short. Fortunately, we have
a plan.

on Capitol Hill February 8!
-- And if you can't come, fax and donate --
CCN, along with members of the Minuteman Project, the ASAP Coalition,
and interested citizens will go to the Capitol steps on Wednesday,
February 8th, to demand that members of the Senate uphold their
sworn Constitutional duties to protect our borders, our jobs,
and our nation from the flood of illegal aliens which threatens
to transform this once proud republic into a lawless Third World
dumping ground.
We will make these demands as citizens of the United States, the
constituents who elected them to represent us.
The Senate's failure to act has nearly destroyed health care,
education, infrastructure, civil liberties, our heritage, culture
and sovereignty of our United States, and threatens our National
Security.
Our first and foremost demand is NO "GUEST WORKER" BILLS
and NO AMNESTY, whether disguised as a scurrilous "guest
worker" bill or otherwise.
Our second and equally important demand is for a seven year MORATORIUM
on all legal immigration in excess of 100,000 per year. Given
that the over one million legal immigrants per year displace citizens
from jobs, depress wages, impose huge costs on taxpayers for schools,
hospitals and other services, and serve as FAMILY MAGNETS and
as a SAFE HARBOR for ILLEGALS, we must have a MORATORIUM!
ACT NOW:
Join CCN and the Minutemen in Washington D.C. on February 8 for
a day of lobbying on Capitol Hill.
Help us send a clear message to the Senate: our views represent
the views of the overwhelming majority of Americans, including
their constituents.
We will meet February 8, 2006, at 11:00
on the grass area on the west side of the Capitol.

This battle will likely continue for a few days or even
weeks, so even if you receive this Alert after February
8, please do the following:
1) Call, write, and fax your senators today and ask them
to oppose any amnesty ("guest worker") plan or
any bill that would increase immigration. Indeed, ask them
to support a moratorium on all immigration in excess of
100,000 per year.
You can reach your senators by calling the Congressional
switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Fax and E-Mail contact information
can be found at www.congress.org
|
2) WE VERY MUCH NEED YOUR HELP. The Bush Administration is soliciting
millions of dollars, planting news stories, and trying to ram
the Amnesty through Congress and pass a bill doubling immigration,
just as they did CAFTA! But resistance to this scam is building
and together we can stop it.
Thanks to the generosity of members and supporters like you,
CCN and its ASAP Coalition allies have been able to stop previous
amnesty attempts. BUT NOW MORE THAN EVER OUR RESOURCES ARE STRETCHED
TO THE LIMIT. WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR DONATIONS TO FIGHT BACK!
Please click on "SUPPORT
CCN" to send your donation today!
Tell your friends about this page!
Note: CCN is anti-mass immigration
but NOT anti-immigrant.
