Costs of Mass Immigration Mounting
— Business, Workers, and Environment Increasingly Taxed
—
— A Solution on the Horizon —
Illegal/Legal Immigration Connection
Legal, and thus controllable, immigration actually fuels illegal
immigration as family members and countrymen bypass legal channels
to gain entry into the United States. The Center for Immigration
Studies found that: "communities of recently arrived legal
immigrants help create migration networks used by illegals and
serve as incubators for illegal immigration, providing jobs, housing,
and entree to America for illegal-alien relatives and countrymen."
Thanks to 245(i) and other amnesty programs, today's illegal alien
is tomorrow's potential legal permanent resident a situation
that allows and encourages even more of both legal and illegal
immigration.
Bottom Line: Mass Legal Immigration Encourages Mass Illegal
Immigration with Devastating Consequences.
Mass Immigration and Our
Threatened Natural Environment
Immigration-caused population growth continues to swallow our
land, choke our clean air, guzzle our water supplies, and exhaust
our natural resources. Massive legal immigration is a magnet for
massive illegal immigration. Over 80% of the United States' 3.3
million annual population growth results from immigration. Our
border environment has paid a heavy price, including forest fires,
weakened border security, and increased cross-border crime.
Massive immigration results in:
1) fires and other environmental damage. For example,
this year alone in the Coronado, along the Mexico border near
Tucson, Arizona, over 91,940 acres have burned in the 1.8 million
acre National Forest due largely to the more than 8 major fires
allegedly started by illegal aliens, as the attached Coronado
Report shows; and
2) business and workers pay an increasingly high price in taxes,
lost jobs, and depressed wages over $93 billion a year
in taxes (net after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) and $152
billion in annual wage depression as more fully described in the
attached Economics Report.
Mass Immigration Continues while Millions Lose Jobs
The bottom line is that mass immigration means more competition
for the limited resources in the "resource pie," whether
one is talking about good jobs, room on the freeway, potable water,
open space, or cheap energy. It drives up costs of all these desirable
and necessary goods. Paying for immigration takes an ever increasing
proportion of the family budget, which means that the consumer
has less disposable income. Immigration, which makes the average
American poorer, is ultimately very BAD for the economy and businesses
since as we hear ad nauseum economic health depends
on continued consumer spending. Even as millions of people have
lost their jobs in the U.S. in recent years, we continue to allow
more than a million aliens permanent resident status each year
in the U.S., forcing increased competition for jobs, health care,
education, welfare benefits, and housing at a time when Americans
desperately need these resources.
Stop Increasing Taxes, Job Loss,
and Environmental Degradation
A Solution on the Horizon Act
Now!
Remember: One Act of Congress is all it takes!
Call, write, or fax your representative today, urging them
to cosponsor H.R. 2712, still the best immigration reducing bill
in Congress today! The all-inclusive moratorium on legal immigration
which would be enacted by H.R. 2712 is the best way to address
Post 9/11 security concerns, alleviate environmental degradation,
and put the U.S. on the path to population stabilization, all
in one congressional act! Ask your Senators to sponsor a similar
bill in the Senate.
Ask other groups you support if they are pushing the moratorium
bill H.R. 2712 as their first priority. Ask them if they have
signed onto the ASAP Coalition's 4-point program. (If they have
not signed on, they may well be a "Reform Lite" group!)
Ask for written confirmation they have signed on.
You have made a difference! Act now, and make even more!
Recently, CCN immigration reduction activists have been an increasing
presence on the Hill. CCN and our ASAP Coalition allies' intensified
lobbying has had results defeating 245(i) and, with your continued
support, our gains can multiply! Use Paypal to give a special

but NOT anti-immigrant.
